ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Lauren, a Canadian artist and creative mentor, needed a detailed artist biography for her personal website.

With her project Faces We Love, Lauren set out to paint 1,000 portraits of people she had met. She initially began painting friends and family, but the project quickly gained momentum online, with complete strangers from all over the world connecting through social media asking to be painted too.

To maximize the increasing volume of traffic to her personal and project websites, I created long and short versions of Lauren’s biography to raise her profile in the international art world.

The Matchmaker Club members are attractive, ambitious professionals looking for someone special to share their time with. That’s where Annie Cranfield, Owner of The Matchmaker Club comes in. She helps singles identify what they’re looking for in a partner, and equips them with the tools to know what to do once they’ve found them. Leveraging both traditional and digital dating methods to find great matches for her clients, Annie wanted web copy that showed off her modern and fun approach to dating.

// ONE4PETS INTERLACED AIR MATTRESS

VIDEO SCRIPT

This video script was written for the lovely folks at Pure Souls Media, who shot a promotional video for One4Pets’ new Orthopedic Interlaced Air Mattress for dogs.

The pet retailer sent a list of specs for the video script, focusing mainly on the antibacterial, easy-wash, quick-dry and eco-friendly properties of the mattress. The unique 3-dimensional weaving structure which is both light and durable is a better alternative to the existing polyurethane memory foam or polyester fibre mattresses on the market.

Though the video script gives the viewer all the pertinent details, let’s face it, the cute dog does all the selling.

Bespoke Decor Rentals is all about vintage decor, fresh blooms & made-to-order stationery for seriously swoon-worthy events around beautiful Vancouver. After meeting with owner Ashton, I quickly realized Bespoke Decor is like no other rental and event styling company in town. Ashton wanted copy for her new website that didn’t sound anything like other event rental and styling websites, and that reflected her unique, fun and creative approach to events.

Initially, when I asked what her favourite words and phrases were, she responded with “happy dance”, “high five” and “seriously awesome”. Definitely not your run of the mill web copy!

The business benefit of writing web copy true to your business’ personality is attracting the clientelle you most want to work with. Before potential clients even pick up the phone, they see the exact style of your business and will know instantly if it’s something they gel with or not.

To create consistency across all platforms, I also created micro, short and long bios to describe Bespoke Decor Rentals. This makes it really easy for Ashton to cut and paste bios into all of her social media platforms, and to use whenever she’s asked to guest blog for wedding and event websites.
